Patricia Altschul is by far the richest member on the show. She is the widow of former Goldman Sachs banker, Arthur Altschul. Patricia began as a teacher at George Washington University before rising to become an Assistant Professor of Art History. Later she became a private art collector.

Patricia Altschul’s son and creator of Southern Charm, Whitney Sudler-Smith, is a flourishing filmmaker and director. His deceased father, Lon Hayes Smith, was an investment banker.
Whitney began his career directing small indie films in the late 1990s. He also became a screenwriter before having the idea to start a reality series.
