Early Life
Mogilko was born in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg on March 13, 1990. Not much is known about her family background but she did grow up in an entrepreneurial family.
At 12 years old, Marina became an Avon representative and sold cosmetic products to her teachers. Later she attended Technische Universität Dresden for less than a year and went to Saint Petersburg State University to study econometrics and quantitative economics.

While still a college student in Russia, Marina started her first business with her boyfriend. They founded LinguaTrip with the goal of helping others learn languages.
