For many prominent entrepreneurs and investors, the Bitcoin decision has been a serious roller coaster. Some are in, others are out, but if you’re looking for a true pioneer then Pompliano is your guy. Anthony Pompliano’s net worth is estimated to be $200 million, making him one of the richest Bitcoiners.
His path to crypto fame hasn’t quite been linear, though, so let’s trace the journey and see what some of the pivot points have been.
Pompliano started his financial education at Bucknell, where he was a double major, receiving a B.A. in both economics and sociology. He fine-tuned his leadership skills in the army where he was deployed to Iraq and won awards for his performance in the Warrior Leader Course and the Infantry Leadership School.
Armed with a background in economics and leadership, Pompliano took the logical next step: he founded a company. Digaforce was a social media intelligence platform based on unfiltered content, and the company was successful enough to be acquired in 2013 by Strategic Link Partners.
That in turn led to another next logical step – Pompliano went to work for Facebook, where he led a Growth and Engagement Team and was then recruited to start and lead a similar team for Snapchat.
From there he founded Full Tilt Capital, which was his first big step toward big wealth. Full Tilt Capital invested heavily in companies like Lyft and Reddit, which eventually brought attention from Morgan Creek Capital Management, which acquired Full Tilt Capital in 2018. From there, Pompliano became a co-founder and partner in Morgan Creek Digital Assets.
It was Pomp Investments that became one of his primary financial vehicles after that, and the Pompcast brought him fame when he began doing shows on his YouTube channel with the likes of Mark Cuban, Robert Kiyosaki and Anthony Scaramucci.
His podcasts mostly covered finance and tech, but what Pompliano was really hustling was his own talent as a major personality and pundit.
Pompliano made a splash when he stated that the price of Bitcoin would hit $100,000 by the end of 2021. He also insists that BTC will reach $500,000 by the end of the decade, and he claims that the value of a single Bitcoin will eventually reach $1 million.
Pompliano is obviously counting on Bitcoin becoming the world’s reserve currency, and he’s backed up his belief that that will happen with some serious investments of his own personal wealth. The investor and entrepreneur recently revealed that over 80 percent of his wealth is currently in Bitcoin, with the remainder of his funds divided between real estate, cash and start-up investments.
Interestingly, Pompliano’s private life is on the quieter side to date. He got engaged to Polina Marinova in 2018 after being in a relationship with her for many years, and they tied the knot in 2020.
A man who goes by nicknames like “Pomp” and “Pomp Crypto” seems unlikely to vanish from the financial celebrity landscape, so expect more big predictions and major moves from Pompliano, especially if he has children with his new wife and he has to rely on Bitcoin to pay the bills.
