Early Life
Abdaal was born on May 11, 1994, to a Muslim family in Karachi, Pakistan. The family relocated to South Africa and eventually settled in the UK, where Ali got his education. Here he attended Westcliff High School for Boys in Southend-on-Sea, England.

After getting his degree in 2018, he practiced as a junior doctor for the National Health Service in the UK. Two years later, he publicly announced that he would be leaving his job as a doctor. Ali Abdaal started his YouTube channel back in 2016. He is a music lover who plays the guitar and piano, so his first videos were covers of his favorite songs. He later promoted 6med services and made vlogs about his medical journey.
