    Sweet Anita

Sweet Anita is a Twitch streamer, YouTube star, and gamer from the UK. She is known online for openly talking about how she suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome. Though she gets some backlash from doing so, a lot of people support her endeavors.

    Background

Anita was raised by a single mother in East Anglia and moved to the south west of England. Her real name is still a mystery. She sought medical help at 13 years old, but the doctor ignored her complaints, dismissing her as an attention seeker.

It was believed that it was only a phase, and she would later grow out of it. But a decade later, she tried again to get a diagnosis. After a week of examinations, Anita was officially diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome.

Anita struggled with the condition growing up. Due to her tics, she was only able to attend school properly for a year. The syndrome does not have a permanent cure and her symptoms are relieved only by cognitive behavioral therapy and specialized medicine.

    Streaming

In 2018, Anita started streaming on Twitch and her early content was mostly gaming-related. She focused on the multiplayer shooting game Overwatch. After videos of her profanity-laced outbursts, triggered by her tics were seen online, she caught the attention of many.

Sweet Anita was nominated for her first big award, “Twitch Streamer of the Year,” at the 11th Shorty Awards on May 5, 2019.The gamer was awarded a Twitch partnership, which has increased her earning potential. As of 2024, the gamer now has 1.56 million followers on her channel.

    Controversies

Although the platform is supportive of Anita’s efforts, not all of the attention has been beneficial. She’s been accused of media manipulation, and her tics have been criticized by users on social media sites.

Some people also urged to remove from the website after making racist remarks during her live streams. In her defense, Anita stated that she was unable to control her neurotic tics and would not allow them to be censored.

She doesn’t take the accusations about her condition personally. After years of educating people about her disability, she is confident there are more people that believe her than those that don’t.

    Personal Life

Anita works as an animal rehabilitator when she’s not streaming and has taken care of rabbits, chinchillas, and rats. She also has her own business, selling glass that she collects along the coast.

As for her relationship status, the content creator is currently single as there’s no reports of her having a boyfriend. Sweet Anita is only focused on taking care of her mother and spreading her message that even with Tourette’s, anyone can adapt to live a successful life.
