    Patrick Boyle

Patrick Boyle isn’t your typical finance guru. As an author, hedge fund manager, and professor at King’s College London, he’s turned financial expertise into an art form. His YouTube channel, where he breaks down complex finance topics with a mix of wit and precision, has attracted a massive following. At this time, Patrick Boyle has a net worth of $2 million.

    Early Life

Boyle was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 17, 1976, but grew up in Dublin as his family relocated there. In 2000, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Trinity College Dublin. Five years later, he got a master’s degree in finance from London Business School.

At university, his academic interests covered asset management, behavioral finance and quantitative finance. These topics would serve as a strong foundation to build a successful career in finance.

    Business Career

Fresh out of college, Boyle began his career at the Bank of America. To find an edge in the market, he began following a statistical approach. In 2001, he jumped ship to work as a financial derivatives trader at Victor Niederhoffer, a former associate of billionaire investor George Soros.

During his career he also worked as a Portfolio Manager at firms such as Millennium Management, LLC, Nomura Securities, and Royal Bank of Scotland.

In 2011, Patric co-founded a hedge fund called Palomar Capital Management along with his business partner, Jesse McDougall. Boyle created an algorithm that placed hundreds of trades every day and had a 65% success rate. He sold his stake in the firm in 2018 but continued to serve as a Director until 2020.

    Teaching Career

In 2009, he was a visiting professor of finance at the Queen Mary University of London. During his academic career, he published several finance-related books.

Since 2017, Patrick Boyle has served as a professor at King’s Business School in London and helps organize the institution’s annual conference on financial markets.

In 2019, Patrick set up a YouTube channel to upload videos for his students. The early videos discussed financial derivatives but started uploading more interesting content to reach a broader audience. The personal finance YouTuber currently has 897,000 subscribers.

    Net Worth

Palomar Capital Management is an award-winning hedge fund in the UK and Boyle himself has won awards for his contributions. In 2019, he received the coveted Kings Education Award for Innovation in Teaching.

Boyle has made the majority of his wealth from working in high-paying financial roles. His YouTube channel is an impressive side hustle and attracts around 3 million views every month. With a CPM of $5 per 1,000 views, Boyle should be making $15,000 per month in YouTube ad revenue.

The finance space is highly lucrative as brands have bigger budgets to spend on advertising. He also has earnings from publishing three books, his book Trading and Pricing Financial Derivatives, was rated the best options trading book in 2021.

While specific earnings from his publications are not disclosed, authors typically receive royalties based on sales volume. With a background in hedge fund management and investment banking, Boyle likely maintains personal investments in various financial instruments, contributing to his $2 million net worth.

    Personal Life

The hedge fund manager doesn’t share any private details about his life. Despite this, it is assumed he is married. Patrick is hands down one of the top finance YouTubers on the platforms and viewers love his sarcastic wit.
