Martell Holt is a businessman and reality TV star famous for featuring in “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Martell co-owns two main businesses, Holt & Holt Entrepreneurship LLC and Holt Custom Homes. With all of his endeavors, Martell Holt has an estimated net worth of $20 million.
Early Life
Martell was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on January 4, 1982. The Huntsville native earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Alabama A&M University in 2008 and had aspirations to become a teacher.
After graduating, he began working as a teacher at Sparkman Middle School and this is where he met Melody. He stayed a teacher for a couple of years but left to focus on entrepreneurship.
As the landscaping company grew and picked up residential and commercial contracts, he wanted to dedicate more time to the venture. During this time, he developed an interest in real estate.
Real Estate
In 2010, he changed careers and resigned from his teaching job to focus on real estate. Teaching is a stable and respectable job but the average public school salary for a teacher is only $57,933 according to Salary.com.
Before leaving the job, he was already preparing for a career in real estate and completed a few real estate courses. Three years later, he formed the company Holt & Holt Entrepreneurship LLC with his wife.
Martell Holt’s personal fortune has also increased thanks to book sales and other retail operations. He published a book titled “The 9 to 5 Entrepreneur: Twelve Questions to Consider Before Taking the Leap,” which is available on Amazon.
Reality TV Career
Aside from entrepreneurship and real estate, the Love & Marriage franchise stars Holt on OWN. It is a reality show that features other African-American real estate couples.
The married couples on the show have been friends for a long time and are socialites with outspoken opinions. Martell and his ex-partner Melody (now divorced) are beloved by many fans of the program.
Martell and Melody were heavily involved in the show’s development. Apparently, the format of the show was their initial idea. The show documented the Comeback Group and the challenges they faced growing the business.
Personal Life
Sadly, Martell Holt’s personal life is not as successful as his career. Martell had a five-year affair with Arionne Curry that ended his marriage. Throughout the last few years, the Holts have broken up multiple times. Melody and her children moved out of their home and into an apartment for six months before deciding to reconnect.
Following the birth of their daughter, the Holts appeared to be happy again but it was a temporary fix. In a YouTube video, they proudly revealed their baby girl to the world. However, this good news didn’t last, and they split up soon after. Currently, Martell is dating Sheree Whitfield who is 12 years older.

Boy, what a low-class loser! It amazes me when men leave fabulous women for trash. Says a lot about him, good riddance!
