Riding the wind and crossing the seas can be a lucrative career. Luxury yacht captain Lee Rosbach, is proof of this. His profession led him to become a leading figure on Bravo’s Below Deck. The show has become a huge success and fans are curious about Lee’s finances. To date, Lee Rosbach has a net worth of $1 million.

    Background

Rosbach was born in Michigan on November 15, 1949. At birth, he was diagnosed with a condition called atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib, which causes irregular heartbeats. Lee was essentially raised on boats and moved to Florida at the age of 25 to live in a warmer climate.

Before becoming a yacht captain, he worked in the restaurant business. Lee revealed he used to own 10 restaurants in Florida, Indiana, Georgia and Turks and Caicos. While running the restaurants in the Turks and Caicos, he rediscovered his love for the sea.

    Yachting Career

To supplement his income, a friend invited him to work as a first Mate on a sailboat. This was how his journey started and at 35 years old, Lee Rosbach became a licensed yacht captain. Rosbach doesn’t own a yacht and has to lease them from owners as they’re expensive to purchase.

Over the last two decades, he has headed over a dozen superyachts. Because of his experience, crew members have a high level of respect for him. Fans of the show have dubbed him the “Stud of the Sea”.

    Media Career

Below Deck began airing in 2013, the Michigan native became a main character and fan favorite. From the first season, he was known for making sure that everything went to plan. The show is now filming season 11 but Lee left after season 10 due to a back injury.

In season 9, he was briefly replaced by Sean Meagher because of his AFib heart condition. Along with being a television personality, Rosbach tried his hand at writing. In 2018, he released his memoir, “Running Against the Tide” and opened an online store selling merch on captainlee.com.

    Net Worth and Earnings

According to Worldwide Boat, Lee earns around $210,000 per year as a yacht captain. He also gets a share of tip money and has stated that his biggest tip was a whopping $35,000. There’s also extra income from book sales, merchandise sales and sponsored posts on social media.

Thanks to his large following on Instagram, he has done deal brands with Dramamine and Bacardi. In addition, the captain makes money through speaking engagements. His earnings as a cast member on Below Deck haven’t been disclosed, but it’s enough to get his net worth to $1 million.

    Personal Life

Captain Lee Rosbach is married to Marry Anne, and they’ve been together for almost five decades. The couple first met as crew members, and have been blessed with five children: one girl and four boys. Sadly, his son Joshua passed away in 2019. The family currently resides in Florida.
