    Jennifer Rene Psaki previously served as the White House press secretary for the Obama and Biden administration. Currently, she works as a political analyst for MSNBC. As of 2023, Jen Psaki has a net worth of $2 million.

    Early Life

    Jen Psaki was born on December 1, 1978 and raised in Stamford, Connecticut. Her mother Eileen, is a psychotherapist, and her father Dimitrios, worked as a real estate developer. Psaki is of Irish and Polish descent.

    She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1996 and then she attended the College of William & Mary to study English and Sociology. At college, she was a part of a sorority named Chi Omega. For two years, she also entered school competitions for backstroke swimming. She earned her degree in 2000.

    Secretarial Career

    In 2001, she started her career helping Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack’s re-election campaign. After that, Psaki worked as the deputy press secretary for John Kerry’s failed presidential campaign.

    Psaki joined Obama at the White House as deputy press secretary. In December 2009, she was appointed Deputy Communications Director. Jen left the position for some time only to return as press secretary in 2012.  In February 2017, Jen Psaki was a political pundit for CNN but left the news network when Biden got elected in early 2021.

    Future Plans

    In an interview on May 6, 2021, Jen stated that she would be leaving her role as press secretary and stated that it was time for someone else to take the mantle. She signed a 3-year contract with MSNBC and will be one of their political analysts. In 2023, she will be hosting a show on MSNBC’s Peacock streaming service but the date hasn’t been confirmed yet.

    Net Worth and Salary

    As the White House Press Secretary, Psaki was paid an annual salary of $180,000. As part of her employment, she was given subsidized power, 24-hour security, and other benefits. Outside of her career, she also makes money from her investing in real estate.

    She currently owns seven properties that have a combined value of approximately $30.65 million. Jen is also projected to earn up to $14 million with MSNBC which will increase her wealth considerably. But for now, her net worth is still at $2 million.

    Personal Life

    Psaki married political assistant Greg Mecher in May 2010. In 2006, the two were introduced to each other at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Greg Mecher once served Congressman Steve Driehaus as chief of staff. He also had the same job working for Congressman Joe Kennedy. Today, Jen and Greg are happily married with two kids.
