But the hip-hop duo, whose respective birth names are Franky and Alex Venegas, lost their fame just as fast as they earned it two years ago.
Although you might still see them on social media these days, the manager of the Florida-based rappers admitted that their bank account had “run dry” and that they owed him $150,000. Recently, the boys tried to make a comeback by posting a video of them almost kissing, which people thought was a pathetic attempt at reviving their popularity.

The Island Boys are famous, thanks in part to their charismatic personalities and unique appearance. Franky Venegas began his musical career in 2020 and released a few songs before getting into the spotlight: Smoke, 9ine and Real Right. The channel has over 268,000 subscribers and their videos have received over 183 million views, which generates steady earnings. Their videos also make money from YouTube ads, around $2-$5 per 1,000 views on the channel.
To profit from their fame, the pair sell shoutouts on Cameo. charging a cool $215 for personal video requests and $600 for business bookings on the platform. They also launched a merch store, selling branded t-shirts, hoodies and vests.

Frankie and Alex Venegas were born on July 16, 2001 in Florida and their parents are Cuban. The twins grew up in a single-parent home as their father died from a heart attack in 2007. The guys had a difficult childhood and both had problematic behavior.
Their mother tried to educate them by sending them to good schools but they still misbehaved. The Venegas twins committed robberies and were detained in juvenile jail several times. Since their careers have taken off, they still get into trouble.
