Grant Cardone is a perfect example of sheer determination to succeed against all odds. At 64 years old, Cardone has become a multi-millionaire through real estate. Grant’s story is proof that anybody can make it if they work hard enough and refuse to give up. As of 2023, Grant Cardone’s net worth is $600 million. Despite appearing on the show “Undercover Billionaire”, Grant is not yet a billionaire.
Early Life
Born in 1958 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, he grew up in a poor family and was one of four children. His father (Curtis Louis Cardone) died when he was 10 years old. Grant has a twin brother called Gary, a successful businessman in his own right. Grant’s teenage life was tough without a father figure and had to battle with alcohol and drugs.
Despite all odds, he managed to graduate from McNeese State University in 1981. After college, he worked as a salesperson and began investing in real estate. His first business venture was a consulting company. He helped car manufacturers and dealers in the U.S and Canada improve their sales processes. He used the cash from this gig to purchase his second real estate property.
Real Estate Investments
It was during his time as a car salesman that he saw the potential in real estate. He started with a single-family property in Houston and later moved to multi-family housing. He slowly built up his real estate empire and used the income from his initial properties to buy more. He continued expanding and now Cardone Capital’s multifamily portfolio owns 35 properties with 11,552 apartment units.
Real Estate Holdings
Cardone Capital has acquired over $1.2 billion of real estate and owns properties in Florida, Tennessee, Arizona, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, California, and North Carolina. Grant’s property portfolio is financed with loans from banks and external investors. He is worth $600 million mainly because he uses low-interest debt as leverage to earn passive income from his real estate.
In January 2022, Cardone paid $40 million for a 9,500 square-foot home in Malibu, located on Carbon Beach. Previously it was listed for $50 million but Grant got a nice discount. In addition, he owns a Gulfstream G650ER private jet, two August 139 VVIP helicopters, and a collection of luxury cars and watches worth over $5 million.
Sale of Books and Courses
Outside of real estate investing, Grant has other business ventures. They include the sale of books, sales programs, and Grant Cardone TV. He has written five books: “Sell to Survive”, “The 10X Rule”, “The Closer’s Survival Guide”, “Sell to Sold”, and “If You’re Not First, You’re Last”. Several established companies have used Grant’s sales programs including Google and Ford Motor Company.
The 10X Growth Conference
The 10X Growth Conference showcases his ability to inspire and educate. This event, which has featured celebrities like Floyd Mayweather and Steve Harvey, not only generates significant revenue but also reinforces his status as a leading business coach.
Personal Life
Outside of the business world, Grant is a dedicated family man. He is married to Elena Lyons and they have two daughters, Sabrina and Scarlette Cardone. They currently live in Miami, Florida. Grant is also a Scientologist and is very open about his religious beliefs. He has stated before, Scientology has played a big role in his success.
