    Dave Turin

The Hoffman mining crew became famous on Gold Rush. Nicknamed “Dozer Dave”, Dave Turin was a standout person in the group and was their quarry and mining expert. His skills have led him to appear in several other series, including Dave Turin’s Lost Mine. With his mining and media endeavors, Dave Turin has an estimated net worth of $2 million.

    Early Life

David Turin was born in Sandy, Oregon on April 21, 1959. His father, Jim, is an owner of a quarry called Jim Turin & Sons. Dave has other three brothers who all worked in their father’s business.

Because of the family business, Dave learned about mining from a young age. He was popular in high school as he was a star athlete and football player.

In college, he continued to play sports while studying for a degree in civil engineering. However, Dave had no intention of making a career out of football. After graduating, he immediately worked for his father,

    Career Beginnings

As a certified engineer, Turin worked at the quarry for 25 years and was in charge of daily operations. According to oregonlive.com, the family’s quarry business was sold to a large multinational company.

Dave met Gold Rush star Todd Hoffman at church and was asked to consult on the Porcupine Creek mine project. Ultimately left the quarry to join Todd’s crew for the season.

He was one of the few competent members in Hoffman’s crew, the rest had limited mining experience. Turin had a crew in season three and they mined 803 ounces of gold, worth $1.28 million at the time.

    Leaving Gold Rush

Dave left the Hoffman crew in season seven after being unable to find any gold. Later that season, he returned but ended up having a fight with co-star Trey Poulson.

Turin officially left the main show in season eight. Despite leaving, Dozer Dave still got to appear in various Gold Rush spin-off series and remained friends with Todd Hoffman.

In 2019, he returned to the screen with his own show, “Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine.” A sad moment in the show was when miner Jesse Goins passed away, and the cast were deeply impacted.

    Net Worth and Earnings

Although he spent a long time operating the family quarry, Dave earned most of his fortune from appearing on Gold Rush. Main cast members on Gold Rush typically get $25,000 per episode and Turin should have made a similar figure for his show.

Dave Turin’s Lost Mine wasn’t renewed for season 5 but he’s starring in a new show called “America’s Backyard Gold”.

The cost to mine gold is expensive and most likely Dave relies on his salary from the show to continue mining. Without Discovery putting up money, it would be challenging to make a profit after the expenses. Currently, his fortune stands at $2 million!

    Personal Life

Davin is married to Shelly Turin and they’ve been together since high school. Shelly works as a nurse and they have one child, Tony, who has blessed them with grandchildren.
