The most eminent leader of the People’s Republic of China is Xi Jinping. Aside from being the president since 2013, he is the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) General Secretary and Head of the Central Military Commission. As of 2022, Xi Jinping has an estimated net worth of $1 million.

    Early Life

Jinping was born in Beijing on June 15, 1953. He is one of the six children of Qi Xin and Xi Zhongxun. He learned the Chinese governmental system early as the son of a Chinese Communist Party chairman. However, his father was removed from the organization when Xi turned ten.

His youth wasn’t an easy one. The Cultural Revolution halted all official forms of schooling in 1966 while Xi was attending high school. In 1968, his father was sentenced to prison. Xi was forced to labor in a farming village without his father to protect him.

He was able to attend college in 1974 to study chemical engineering after finally being admitted into the Communist Party. He graduated in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University. Later in his career, he earned a doctorate in law and ideology from the same institution.

    Political Career

Xi worked as a secretary for his father’s old colleague from 1979 to 1982. In 1982, he was assigned to Zhengding County in Hebei as the county’s deputy party secretary. The next year, he was chosen to be secretary.

He went on to serve in four other provinces. In 1999, he was appointed vice-governor of Fujian, and a year later, he was appointed governor. In 2002, Xi rose to the top of Zhejiang’s political hierarchy. The same year, he became a member of the 16th Central Committee.

This marked his rise to power at the national level. In March 2007, Xi was sent to the Shanghai Party, where he served as the secretary for about seven months.

    Becoming President

In November 2012, Jinping was selected to be the general secretary of the CCP and chairman of their Central Military Commission. This informally made him the strongest figure after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

He officially became the president on March 14, 2013. He got 2,952 votes in favor, one against, and three vetoes from the 12th National People’s Congress. Per the Chinese government rules, Jinping is allowed to keep his term as long as he lives. In 2022, he is active in his political duties.

    Net Worth and Salary

As the ruler of the world’s most populous country, Xi Jinping can undoubtedly amass an enormous fortune by whatever means considered legal by the CCP.

However, it is known that his annual salary is $22,000 by holding the most significant positions in his nation. That’s why his net worth is reported to be around $1 million.

    Personal Life

The Chinese president’s wife is a folk singer in the name of Peng Liyuan. They got married in 1987 and had a baby in 1992. They named her Xi Mingze. Before this, Jinping was initially married to Ke Lingling in the early 80s. They split up years later because they always had disagreements.
