People suffering from medical conditions often need to use medicine but don’t have a convenient way to store it. Enter Stealth Bros and Co., they create stylish kits to store pills, injections, and other paraphernalia in a more organized way. Founder Braxton Fleming, appeared on Shark Tank and got a deal with Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban. As of 2024, Stealth Bros and Co. is worth $500,000.
About the Founder
Braxton Fleming is a transgender man from Mays Landing, New Jersey. He was born female to entrepreneurial parents. However, his first career choice was to be a nurse, and he earned his LPN certification in 2008 at Kean University.
He was raised by parents who were supportive of his life decisions growing up. When the New Jersey native turned 27, he realized something was missing. That’s when Braxton realized he was transgender.
While making the transition, he watched YouTube videos of other people from the LGBTQ community. With 11 years of experience working as a nurse, he noticed most of them were practicing unsafe medical habits, and he wanted to help.
Founding the Company
He started Stealth Bros and Co. in December 2017 with the purpose of supporting underrepresented medical communities. Braxton also wanted to make money to pay for surgery, and treatment to give his chest a more masculine appearance.
Fleming did all the work alone, making fashionable all-in-one Dopp kits with different designs in the basement of his home. Braxton made enough money during the first year to cover the cost of his surgery.
Outside of the transgender community, the product also appeals to individuals with diabetes, HIV, and women undergoing IVF. In 2021, the business made $147,000 solely through e-commerce.
Shark Tank Appearance
In 2022, Braxton Fleming’s company was growing rapidly thanks to influencer marketing. Despite this, he needed to raise more capital to scale operations. He appeared on season 14 of the show, seeking $200,000 for 15% equity.
The pitch went well, and all the Sharks loved the product and its purpose. As a woman who has experience with IVF, Barbara Corcoran was the first to make an offer. She offered $100,000 in cash and $100,000 in a line of credit for 20%.
Cuban spoke briefly with Barbara and agreed to team up with her to split the deal. Similar to Barbara, Cuban wanted to support the cause and was less concerned about making a profit. Braxton tried to counter at 18%, but the two Sharks stood their ground.
After Shark Tank
As of September 2022, Stealth Bros & Co. has year-to-date sales of $110,000 which is a 40% increase over 2021. The episode only aired on September 30th but some of the kit designs were already sold out after the show.
The company recently received a purchase order from a large retailer but that hasn’t been disclosed yet. The products are available on Amazon and StealthBrosCo.com. They currently sell three products: Jr. Dopp kits, Original Dopp kits, and Stealth Sharps Disposal, which can be bought in bundles.
Stealth Bros & Co’s social media accounts have seen a bump in followers as their Instagram account now has over 22,600 followers! Given its only early days, the deal with Mark and Barbara hasn’t closed yet.
