An innovative company specializing in smart snow goggles, Rekkie recently made a splash on Shark Tank. Founded by Henry, David and Fletcher Pease, Rekkie aims to transform the skiing experience for enthusiasts worldwide. After appearing on Shark Tank, the guys got a deal with Mark Cuban. Currently, Rekkie is worth an estimated $3 million.
Rekkie’s smart ski goggles are more than just eye protection. They integrate cutting-edge technology to enhance the skiing experience, offering features like navigational aids, performance tracking, and real-time data display. This integration of technology into a traditional sportswear item sets Rekkie apart in the market.
Meet the Founders
The brains behind Rekkie, the Pease brothers share a passion for skiing and technology. Their combined expertise led to the creation of Rekkie’s augmented reality goggles. Not surprisingly, the Ohio brothers have amazing pedigree.
Not much is known about Fletcher but Henry studied Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University and graduated in 2016. He went on to work at BMW of North America, LLC for over five years as a Research And Development Engineer. He left to co-found Rekkie in July 2022.
David is the older brother, he has a strong background in consulting and business. He currently serves as the Co President of Pease Enterprises which runs ecommerce businesses in home and outdoor action. Their portfolio includes Rekkie, Pease Doors, Brisker and Porvata.
Customer Reviews and Feedback
Rekkie has earned positive reviews from both professional skiers and recreational users. Customers praise the goggles for their functionality, comfort, and the added safety features. The ability to access real-time data without interrupting the skiing experience has been a notable highlight in customer feedback. The battery life is estimated to be 10 – 15 hours and you’ll also need to download an app.
Post-Shark Tank Developments
Appearing on Shark Tank was a pivotal moment for Rekkie. Although the episode has just aired, they are expecting to see a surge in sales from public interest. The brothers are already working tirelessly to meet the increased demand while maintaining the quality that sets the product apart.
The deal with Mark Cuban should close within the next three to six months. Normally when an investment is finalized, Cuban will list the company on his website.
Looking ahead, Rekkie aims to continue innovating and expanding its product line. The focus remains on enhancing the experience for its adrenaline-fuelled customers. The product has a high price-point, meaning they don’t need massive volume to drive revenue.
On its website, the flagship product retails for $349. Due to the cost, they only need to sell 2866 units to make $1 million in sales! In addition, they sell snow goggles, a long-sleeve performance shirt, hoodies and a sweatshirt. The patent for their heads-up display technology is still pending.
With the portfolio of businesses they own, there’s no doubt the three guys will be successful. One interesting point raised by a user on Reddit was why would you want more gadgets integrated into one of the few moments where you can feel truly disconnected?
