When it comes to entrepreneurs and motivation, few have more drive than Patrick Bet-David. The 44-year-old Iranian-American entrepreneur seems to get much of his drive from a stint in the US Army, which he joined right after high school, and that drive helped him to establish his fortune. As of 2023, Patrick Bet-David. has a net worth of $200 million.
Bet-David was born in Iran in 1978 to parents of Armenian and Assyrian descent. He fled the country in the late 1980s with his father, and they lived in Germany for a brief period before moving to the US.
After graduating from high school, Bet-David joined the army and served in the 101st Airborne Division, and it was in this elite unit that his uniqueness began to emerge. He subsequently went to work for Morgan Stanley, and in 2009 founded the PHP Agency, a life insurance marketing company that offers health insurance, annuities and 401K rollovers.
By 2017 the company had raised over $10 million in capital from a syndicate of private equity funders that included Atalaya Capital and the likes of Oscar De La Hoya. PHP Agency was acquired by Integrity Marketing Group in July 2022 for an undisclosed amount.
His media experience as an entrepreneur reflects that same level of relentless drive. Bet-David launched a website in 2009 called “Saving America,” and shortly after that, he joined a radio broadcast in LA.
A decade later, Bet David runs a popular YouTube channel and now has over 3.9 million subscribers. He’s interviewed the likes of George W. Bush, Mark Cuban, the late Kobe Bryant, Steve Wozniak and Wayne Gretzky, among others.
Bet-David’s philosophy when it comes to life, money and success is as conservative as it gets. He’s authored books on entrepreneurship, and in them, he’s quoted as saying that the key to success is to take all the basics – i.e, work hard, save money, etc. – and elevate them to the next level.
He’s also a big believer in what he calls being “patiently aggressive,” which helps explain some of the ten-year growth paths that have marked many of his key ventures.
His life partner is his wife, Jennifer, with whom he started his business venture at PHP. They’ve been married for over a decade, and have three children. She professes to be a passionate homebody, so their balance of a private life and public money-making appears to work well for both of them.
So how does he spend his money? Bet-David throws a great deal of his wealth into expensive cars. He owns a small herd of high-end vehicles, including a Lamborghini, a Rolls Royce and so on.
Jennifer also says that she’s had to work her way up when it comes to acquiring the expertise to help manage her husband’s business ventures. There’s no doubt that having $200 million provides a serious margin for error. Given her husband’s ambition, that number seems likely to grow, especially as he takes on new ventures.
