Summer is heating up here and in Eos, and the latest update for Final Fantasy XV has arrived. The newest free download mixes something old with something new, with a new feature, system, and quest, and the return of an old favorite.
Most of the excitement around this update is around the new Magitek Exosuits. If you’re looking to take on Eos’s more dangerous creatures, but need a helping hand, look no further – the exosuits will grant Noctic, Gladio, Prompo, and Ignis a full thirty minutes of invincibility per day for a huge advantage in battle. And if you like the look of the new exosuits, you don’t have to worry about losing them after invincibility wears off – players can continue to wear them in-game as long as they like. Additionally, the update introduces the new Cross Chain collaboration system, to dole out more linked attacks for greater damage to the more defensively powerful enemies. The system is only available after players acquire the Axe of the Conqueror and the Sword of the Wise Royal Arms.
If you’ve completed Chapter 8, you can take on the new “O Partner, My Partner” quest from the Meldacio Hunter HQ. Meanwhile, if you own the Final Fantasy XV Holiday Pack + (available from the Season Pass and Digital Premium Edition) or have previously downloaded the free version, you can participate in the returning Moogle Chocobo Carnival! Available for a limited time, between July 31 and late September (no official end date has yet been announced) players can return to Altissia for limited-time mini-games, Chocobo water races, and Moogle Chocobo menu items from the Square Enix Cafe. Players of all levels can join the fun, so get in on the action before the carnival departs.
