Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is getting a big update tomorrow, December 8. The update adds a new local Versus mode which allows you to play the game against your friends, by sharing a pair of Joy-Con controllers to fight on the battlefields.
“Each player has just three available actions per turn, and how you decide to invest them is a big part of the strategy here,” Ubisoft wrote in a blog post. “You may be accustomed to moving, attacking and using techniques for each of your heroes during every turn in campaign and co-op, but versus is a different story.”
If you don’t have a lot of time to play these matches, Ubisoft says they’re “meant to be short and snappy.” This means you can limit matches anywhere from seven or 10 turns, and set time limits on those turns.
You’ll also get to select your three-hero squad from the eight heroes already in the main game. Each character comes with its own unique pre-sets, including specific statistics and skills, so you can create your own winning strategy.
The Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle update arrives tomorrow, December 8, for Nintendo Switch.
