Kwebbelkop is a content creator famous on YouTube for his vlogs and gaming videos. He is one of the biggest online personalities in the Netherlands. Apart from playing, he also publishes his own games through his company, Webble Games. As of 2023, Kwebbelkop has a net worth of $20 million.
Early Life
Real name Jordi van den Bussche, the curly-haired gamer was born on June 1, 1995 to Ben and Brigittela in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was raised with a sister named Lauren.
His parents got divorced when he was just two years old. He chose to live with his mother but still got to see his father twice per week. At age six, he had surgery to fix a lazy eye. Four years later, Jordi also discovered he had dyslexia.
His childhood wasn’t easy, and it didn’t help that his mom and stepfather were alcoholics. They often mistreated Jordi and his sister. Despite this, the Amsterdam native finished school in 2011.
YouTube Career
Jordi started his YouTube channel back in 2008, mainly to watch videos. After graduating, he shared his first video, playing Call of Duty. However, he stopped uploading videos for a spell because his computer was broken.
In 2012, he started making daily videos about video games such as Minecraft, GTA 5, Assassin’s Creed, Happy Wheels, and Skyrim. The following year, he worked with rising YouTubers Jelly and Slogo to form the group Robust.
The trio grew in popularity together for their vlogs, challenges, and gameplay. However, Kwebbelkop left the team in 2019 because of mental health concerns and was replaced by Crainer. As a solo creator, Kwebbelkop now has 15 million subscribers on the platform.
Sadly, since April 2021 his viewership has fallen by 90%. Some of this is due to the decline in the popularity of the games he plays, Fortnite is a prime example. Also, some fans have highlighted that Jordi’s content hasn’t evolved with the times.
Other Ventures
In 2018, Jordi released an indie game called Impossible Runner, which earned decent success. When he ventured out on his own, Jordi established a game development company called Webble Games.
Its first project is Havocado, a multiplayer fighting game launched in 2019. The following year, he became the owner of a YouTube channel called Tiger. He frequently appeared in the videos, but the main host was another personality named Hassan.
Due to internal conflict, Jordi left Tiger in 2021. After this, he refocused his efforts on his primary channel. He also invested in the mobile phone accessory Backbone and co-founded an NFT launchpad called LaunchMyNFT. His latest project is Hellskate, a new roguelite skateboarding game inspired by Tony Hawks’ video game series.
Net Worth and Earnings
On average, Kwebbelkop’s YouTube channel pulls in around 15 million views every month. Assuming a CPM rate of $4, this means Jordi would make around $60,000 per month in ad revenue alone. At the height of the channel’s popularity, he would have easily been making double that figure.
As a popular content creator, he mainly earns income with YouTube ads, brand deals and affiliate marketing. The 28 year-old recently launched an online merch store on TeeSpring, selling branded clothing. This is why the Dutchman is worth $20 million.
Personal Life
In the past, Kwebbelkop dated a girl named Jamie, but they split up in 2016. After that, he got into a relationship with fellow YouTuber Azzyland, but it ended in 2020. Today, he is single and living his best life in a GTA 5-inspired penthouse in Amsterdam. Kwebbelkop purchased the property for $7.5 million in early 2022. In addition to this, he drives around in a Mercedes G Wagen.
