If you’re still irritated that Netflix took down the first six seasons of Futurama, Hulu might just be your new best friend. The digital streaming service has announced a deal brokered with 20th Century Fox to release almost 3,000 episodes of some of the network’s most popular and iconic TV shows, including Futurama!
While Hulu has had exclusive streaming rights to several of Fox’s more recent new shows, a recent agreement expanded Hulu’s library to include animated giants like Futurama, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and American Dad. Today’s announced deal is the biggest expansion to the streaming service’s already extensive library, which is steadily edging out Netflix’s own collection. Hulu’s own original series collection is also boasting some impressive heavy-hitters, such as the series adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale. Subscribers can also tack on a few bonus channels, including HBO, so you won’t have to miss any episodes of Game of Thrones’ seventh season.
But don’t go diving in planning your next major binge just yet. The series will be released on a rolling schedule over the next few weeks with no word on what’s coming out first and when. But the titles we can expect are definitely well-worth the wait – especially if you’re already missing How I Met Your Mother or Glee.
Confirmed additions include, but are not limited to, as follows:
- The Bernie Mac Show
- Better Off Ted
- Blue Collar
- The Bob Newhart Show
- Bones
- Burn Notice
- Dollhouse
- Don’t Trust the B—in Apartment 23
- The Glades
- Glee
- Graceland
- The Grinder
- Hill Street Blues
- How I Met Your Mother
- Lie To Me
- Life in Pieces
- The Mary Tyler Moore Show
- M*A*S*H
- NYPD Blue
- The Practice
- Raising Hope
- Reba
- Saving Grace
- St. Elsewhere
- White Collar
- Wilfred
Hulu’s streaming plans run at $7.99 per month for limited commercials and $11.99 for commercial-free viewing, while the live TV service, still in beta, caps off at $39.99 per month.
