Facebook is launching a Snooze Button, a new feature that will give you the option to have more control over what content you see in your News Feed, starting next week.
“Over the next week, we’re launching Snooze, which will give you the option to temporarily unfollow a person, Page or group for 30 days,” Facebook product manager Shruthi Muraleedharan wrote in a blog post.
“With Snooze, you don’t have to unfollow or unfriend permanently, rather just stop seeing someone’s posts for a short period of time. The people, Pages, and groups you snooze will not be notified. You will be notified before the Snooze period is about to end and the setting can also be reversed at any time,” said Muraleedharan.
So if you’re sick of seeing posts about Trump or baby photos, you can use Facebook’s new feature to make sure you see less of these posts in your News Feed.
Facebook’s Snooze Button: How To Mute Your Friend’s Posts
To “Snooze” someone in your News Feed, go to the drop-down arrow which can be found in the top right of someone’s post. Instead of just unfollowing them, there’s an option to hit “Snooze.” Tap Facebook’s new “Snooze Button” and you can choose to Snooze someone for a day, a week, a month or decide to unfollow them.
