Also known as The Beast, Eddie Hall is a retired professional strongman. In his prime, he dominated the UK and England Strongest Man contests. In 2017, he held the title of The World’s Strongest Man. Hall is currently turning his attention to the world of celebrity boxing. As of 2023, Eddie Hall has a net worth of $5 million.
Early Life
Edward Stephen Hall was born in Clayton, Staffordshire, on January 15, 1988. Growing up, he spent most of his time in the market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme.
As a teen, he was a strong competitive swimmer but was expelled from Clayton Hall Academy at 15 years old. As a result, he began receiving in-home tutoring. His first job was as a mechanic at Robert Wiseman Dairies garage in Shropshire.
Overtime, he began competing as a bodybuilder. Apart from training, Hall’s enormous muscle mass is helped by a genetic mutation that creates myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy.
Career Beginnings
Hall’s first strongman win was at Stoke-on-Trent and won his first England championship in 2010. After this, he moved on to UK’s Strongest Man competition and, even with injured tendons, bagged first place again.
Next, he competed at Europe’s Strongest Man but only finished 8th. In 2012, Hall did not go past the qualifying group in the World’s Strongest Man. However in 2014, Eddie reached the finals and got 6th place. He tried again in 2015 but finished 4th. By this time, he was gaining international media recognition.
Becoming The World’s Strongest Man
In 2016, he set a world record for the Elephant Bar deadlift but this wasn’t his only record. At the World Deadlift Championships, Hall achieved a new world record deadlift of 500 kg, breaking his previous mark of 465 kg.
Even though he passed out lifting such heavy pressure, he earned $50,000 from breaking the record. All of this was in training for his next try at the international strongman tournament.
In 2017, Eddie Hall finally claimed his dream of becoming The World’s Strongest Man. Once he reached the peak of the sport, Eddie retired due to health concerns relating to his condition. During his career, he earned $80,000 to $100,000 per competition depending on where he placed.
Post-Strongman Earnings
In retirement, Eddie decided to make use of his celebrity status. In 2018, the Beast made an appearance on Channel 5’s show Celebs In Solitary. Hall starred in the SPORTbible online series Beasted! in 2019, helping eight men improve their fitness.
In 2022, the strongman made his boxing debut against rival, Hafthor Bjornsson in March 2022. Despite being much shorter, he put up a good fight but lost by decision. The Sun.co.uk revealed he made up to £1 million fighting the Icelandic giant.
Outside of the boxing payday, Eddie earns a nice living through brand deals. Currently, BoohooMan is one of his main sponsors. He also runs a popular YouTube channel with over 2.69 million subscribers. Based on a $4 CPM, he makes around $64,000 per month in ad revenue from YouTube.
Personal Life
Eddie has been married to Alexandra Hall for over 10 years. The couple has a son named Maximus and Layla, Eddie’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Alexandra is an entrepreneur who’s a full-time supporter of all her husband’s endeavors. She was responsible for preparing Eddie’s 7,000-calorie daily diet. At 1.91 meters tall, Hall’s last updated weight was 164 kg.
