Ubisoft has a new game that combines the immensity of open-world space travel with the minute details of model building. Starlink: Battle for Atlas will allow you the seemingly unique opportunity to build a miniature starship in the real world and have that impact the actual gameplay within the universe of the game.
Starlink promises to allow you to mix and match pilots, hulls, wings, and weapons to change the dynamics of your starship within the game. By locking your real-world starship onto your controller, the ship will then appear in the game just as you designed it. This will allow you to alter your ship as needed to tackle the different challenges within the game.
Obviously, this ability is what makes Starlink: Battle for Atlas stick out, but there’s more to the game than just building starships. According to Ubisoft’s press release, “players’ actions and creative choices will impact their journey and no two player experiences will be alike. Every choice has an impact on the player’s journey and enemies will react and fight back intelligently – taking over the star system if the player does nothing to stop them.” So, in addition to the whole “build your own ship” element, the open-world of the game seems quite impressive, and the intuitiveness promised should make for a rather interesting gaming experience.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas is being developed by Ubisoft Toronto and will come out for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in Fall 2018.
