In the sweltering heat of summer, nothing is more refreshing than ice-cold water. This simple yet elusive pleasure is what David Stark sought to provide when launching Coldest. Their primary product is a water bottle that can keep drinks cold for 36 to 100 hours. Despite having strong sales, David and Joe Shark wasn’t able to close a deal. After Shark Tank, Coldest is worth an estimated $10 million.
Founders
David is the founder and CEO of the Florida-based business. With his technical background, he serves as the engineer/inventor. He’s the pulse of the company and normally works 19 hour days. The entrepreneur graduated with a degree in Engineering from Florida State University.
Twin brother Joe, is the Head of Marketing and worked as a civil engineer in a previous life. He built bridges for the State of Connecticut but building businesses was his real passion. Before launching Coldest, he had 10 business ventures that failed.
Founding Coldest
Founded in 2014, the business started in a garage. The early years were a struggle and all the cash was reinvested back into the business. In 2017, David moved storage to a 2500 sq.ft warehouse located in the middle of no way. The pivotal moment came in 2018 when Joe joined the venture.
By 2020, they expanded into other cold products. In 2021, they opened up a new 15,000 sq.ft warehouse. The pandemic brought unforeseen challenges, yet it turned out to be a silver lining as the company saw a huge increase in demand. In August 2021, Coldest moved into a 15,000 sq.ft warehouse in Fort Myers and opened its first retail store in Coastland Mall, Naples.
Post Shark Tank
As the show has just aired, Coldest are well-prepared to handle a big spike in orders. They should also become profitable in 2024 and focus on less SKUs.
You can purchase water bottles on coldest.com, their best sellers include the Coldest Gallon Jug and Sports Bottle. Also, the website features 150,000 verified reviews from customers! Based on the volume of sales, it’s clear Joe is a talented digital marketer.
Looking ahead, Coldest is not just content with being a product-based company. The founders have ambitious plans to create Coldest World, a theme park designed to offer an immersive experience into the brand’s universe. This bold venture is set to be completed by 2030.
From its humble beginnings in a garage to Shark Tank, Coldest is a compelling narrative of entrepreneurial spirit. As the business grows, its founders remain dedicated to keeping the world cooler, one bottle at a time.
