Chunkz is a YouTuber and presenter with a net worth of £350,000. He shot to fame in 2017 after featuring in the novelty song “Man’s Not Hot” as Asznee. He has retired from music and is focusing on his YouTube and presenting career.
Background
Amin Mohammed was born in 1996, and was raised in a Muslim Somali household in northwest of London. As the youngest of five siblings, his parents were active in his upbringing.
His family has always been supportive of his interest in music, rap, and film. Since a young age, he knew entertaining others came naturally to him.
The now 26-year-old’s inspirations include Poet, David Vujanic, and KSI, which he worked with later in his career. Chunkz has collaborated with the Sidemen, a YouTube group that is popular in the UK.
Rise to Fame
In Big Shaq’s 2017 music video “Man’s Not Hot,” Mohammed played the role of Asznee. The song is very fun to listen to and it quickly went viral. Now, it has attracted over 400 million views.
He and Michael Dapaah helped Trainline launch a voice app for the Google Assistant in March 2018 to make rail route planning easier. In March 2020, Chunkz and Yung Filly released their first rap track and music video, “Clean Up.”
With 3.4 million Instagram followers and 2.74 million YouTube subscribers, the social media star has a loyal following that helped him win the best entertainer award in the International Somali Award.
Retiring from Music
Due to his religious beliefs, Chunkz declared his departure from music in May 2021. He stated in a video that music and the life that goes with it did not align with his spiritual beliefs.
Of course, he expected some backlash from the announcement but to his surprise, most fan reactions were positive. His choice was well-received on Twitter, and many of his followers backed him up.
Income Sources
Chunkz earns the majority of his income from sponsorship deals and YouTube ad revenue. He is also the co-host for #SaturdaySocial and The Aphetor Games. His YouTube channel mainly involves pranks, vlogs, challenges, and rap battles.
In 2019, he joined Sharky, AJ Shabeel, Kenny, and Niko Omilana, to form the Beta Squad. Studio71 Network, a media corporation, has exclusive rights to all of the group members.
Personal Life
With four of his Beta Squad mates, he currently lives in a $5 million mansion in England. Amin was able to witness his following grow even more in the property, allowing him to become a well-known influencer.
Chunkz is also on a continuous journey of staying fit. He has shed 42 kilos and is in the best shape of his life since June 2020. During the last 18 months, he got fitter, stronger, and slimmer, so his workout routine is changing.
