Futurama is one of the greatest shows of all time. The sci-fi sitcom, created by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, was a brilliant, hilarious show that has had a fascinating lifespan. It began on FOX, then they made four straight-to-DVD movies, and then the show moved to Comedy Central, where it ended its run. However, Futurama isn’t dead. It’s back, in mobile game form.
Welcome to Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow, which is now available in the App Store and on Google Play. The game features a story from the writers of Futurama, including Groening and Cohen, and all your favorite characters are back. Perhaps even Scruffy! Fry, Leela, Bender, and the gang are back in action, with a story that seems to be built around the Hypnotoad, who was really only a one-joke character during Futurama‘s original run.
To promote the game, a couple of trailers have been released. One is a “launch trailer,” which gives you a little look at the game. The other is a story trailer, to help explain what Worlds of Tomorrow is all about.
You can download the game now and delve back into the world of New New York. Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow will be updated with new characters, quests, and stories every week, so it should be quite some time before you get bored. Given how great Futurama was, this should be a fun, funny game, and a real treat for those who miss the show. And, of course, all glory to the Hypnotoad.
