Gold Rush season 13 picked up from where the last season ended, continuing to showcase the lives of determined miners as they move northward in search of gold. However, fans have noticed that someone is missing from the action, the excavator expert Brennan Ruault. Whatever happened to him?
Leaving Parker’s Crew
In the season 12 premiere of Gold Rush, Brennan finally had enough of the drama with Parker. He didn’t want to be angry and drained all the time, he also didn’t appreciate how Parker spoke to him.
However, the Canadian native didn’t want to leave the mining life and teamed up with rookie mine boss Rick Ness. In Rick Ness’ crew, Brennan was working as a simple loader and probably took a pay cut in salary. Most likely, the salary from Discovery far outweighs his normal working wages.
Brennan was supposed to work with Rick in season 13, but he hasn’t yet appeared in the new season. It’s looking unlikely fans will see him return to the show anytime soon.
Early Life
Brennan Ruault is originally from Invermere, British Columbia, but later settled in Alberta, Canada. He doesn’t share much about his personal life and he’s believed to be around 34 years old.
He is an outdoor lover whose hobbies include hunting, fishing, working out, motorbiking, and driving snowmobiles. Once, while driving a snowmobile, he was covered in an avalanche. Thankfully, he crawled up to the surface and survived.
Before becoming a miner, he was in the logging business. His reason for quitting his old job is undisclosed, but it is likely because Brennan is an adventurous guy who wants to try different things.
Becoming a Miner
In 2015, the former logger hooked up with Parker Schabel. With this, he was hired to be on Parker’s gold mining crew and joined the show in season six. On the show, he was noted for always being excited when it was time to weigh the gold. Ruault’s work mostly involved operating excavators, and over the years, he became a master of the craft.
His progress led to his eventual promotion as co-foreman with Parker. But from that point on, Brennan and Parker’s relationship deteriorated. They often found themselves arguing and questioning each other’s capabilities.
Net Worth and Earnings
As part of the Gold Rush cast, Brennan Ruault has two main sources of income: gold mining and television appearances. It is said that the main stars on the show make anywhere between $10,000 to $25,0000 per episode.
Ruault also made a hefty sum when he was still working for Parker Schnabel. The young mine boss pays his crew $34 per hour and they typically work 75 hours every week. This would mean he got paid a salary of $2,590 per week. Brennan’s net worth is estimated to be around $500,000.
Personal Life
His bio on the Discovery website states that Brennan had plans of traveling across the country on a bike ride with his friends during the off-season. Brennan isn’t one for the limelight and likes to keep his life lowkey. That includes his romantic relationships.
