It’s always sad when a person passes away, but one passing away as young as Bostin Loyd did makes it even more tragic. Bostin Loyd was internet famous, and well known in the fitness community because of his YouTube channel where he talked in-depth about bodybuilding and his steroid use – and even went as far as shooting up on camera – and discussed the effects they had on his body. He was a controversial figure in the community because of his openness about steroids and because he had a lot of feuds with fellow bodybuilders and other YouTube fitness gurus.
Who was Bostin Loyd?
Bostin Loyd first became big because he openly admitted he was going to use steroids, and that he was going to use a lot of them. His theory was that every IFBB pro used steroids to excess, and it was the only way to become a successful bodybuilder. This brought unwanted attention from the bodybuilding community, and other pros, who said this was false and the amount of steroids he was shooting was dangerous. One bodybuilder, in particular – Lee Priest – put out a video disputing Bostin’s claim and said that bodybuilders weren’t winning competitions solely based on their steroids cycles and if that was the only thing that mattered then Bostin would’ve won every show he competed in, because he took, “Astronomical amounts.”
His YouTube channel became popular and Bostin made a good living teaching fitness; he amassed a net worth of $1.5 million in his lifetime. A few years ago, he stopped putting out content and said he was going to quit bodybuilding and focus on his family. Unfortunately, he didn’t give up the bodybuilding lifestyle, and some speculate he took steroids until his death.
Bostin Loyd’s Death
Two years ago Bostin Loyd announced that his kidneys were failing, due to his use of a peptide. A year later he revealed that he had stage 5 kidney failure, which he attributed to his avid use of foreign substances. For the past two years, his health has been deteriorating.
Bostin’s cause of death is assumed to be ruled as a heart attack. It’s still unknown exactly what role his steroid and supplement abuse played in his untimely death, but a man dying at the tender young age of 29 due to heart failure is not at all common, and one can only assume that the abuse he put his body through living the bodybuilding lifestyle played a part in his demise.
Bostin was always a polarizing character in the bodybuilding community for his extreme experimentation with steroids. One thing that can be said about Bostin – that most people in the fitness industry can’t say – is that he was honest about his steroid use. Like him or not, one can’t deny his honesty, which he’ll always be remembered for.
Rest in Peace, Bostin Loyd. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. He will be survived by his wife Ariella and his three-year-old son Jaxtin.
