Did you want to be there while Walt and Jesse cleaned up that body they dissolved with acid? Or how about when Todd shot that kid in the desert? Well, not you might get your chance to experience what it was like to be present in those immensely grim moments of Breaking Bad. While the saga of Walter White’s meth dealing came to a definitive conclusion a couple years ago, Vince Gilligan is evidently planning on bringing Breaking Bad into the world of virtual reality.
Gilligan and the folks at Sony PlayStation will be teaming up for this VR project based on one of the most popular, critically-adored dramas of all time. Beyond that, though, we don’t know much about the project. There are no real details about the project. We don’t know if it will be a one-off thing, and we don’t know if, say, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will be involved. Maybe this whole thing will just involve you hanging out with Badger and Skinny Pete. Perhaps it will just be a simulation of what it’s like to work at Los Pollos Hermanos.
Regardless, it seems like it could be a cool virtual reality experience. The fact Gilligan is attached to the project, and reportedly very excited about the possibilities, makes it worth paying attention to. Sure, the world of Breaking Bad is not one most of us would like to live in, but hanging out in VR for a few minutes could be worthwhile.
