Spike Chunsoft has announced their follow-up to Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains. The game is fitting titled Attack on Titan 2: Future Coordinates and it will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS in the near future.
The teaser website is in Japanese, so unless you are fluent in deciphering Japanese text, it may not be of much help. Attack on Titan is a long-running manga series in Japan, and there have been several film and video games adaptions, including the aforementioned Humanity in Chains. In that game, you played as one of the characters from the manga, or an original character, and you take on the Titans, who are giants that hunt and eat people. Basically, it’s people versus monsters, which is a pretty classic video game formula.
Humanity in Chains only got middling reviews, so hopefully Spike Chunsoft will improve upon the original with Future Coordinates. However, the name “Future Coordinates” is kind of silly, so that’s not a good start. Then again, it may be a while before anybody outside of Japan gets their hands on the game. While it’s schedule to be released in Japan this year, Humanity in Chains took two years to get from Japan to North America and Europe.
