The Evil Dead movies are largely responsible for turning Bruce Campbell into the cult star he is today. His most iconic role is, and forever will be, Ash, a role he is still playing on TV now in Starz’s Ash vs. Evil Dead. However, the first movie in Sami Raimi’s original trilogy was of a decidedly different flavor from the next two, which took a more comedic trajectory. As such, for many, Evil Dead 2 is the best of the bunch, and that movie is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary. To commemorate that, the soundtrack to the film has been re-released on vinyl.
Waxwork Records, whose bailiwick is soundtrack releases, will be bringing us the score by Joseph Loduca. Now, is anybody’s favorite memory of Evil Dead 2 the score? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean some people don’t have an affinity for it. If you love the move to a certain degree, having any piece of Evil Dead 2 merchandise is worthwhile.
Plus, Waxwork has pulled off all the stops to make the vinyl look nice. New artwork was created for the vinyl, and you can get it in “Oldsmobile Delta 88” yellow or “Ash” blue and red. Either way, Evil Dead 2 fans should get their hands on this while supplies last. You can listen to it and feel like you are being attacked by malevolent spirits, and who doesn’t want that feeling?
