As players of Mass Effect: Andromeda know all too well, the quarian race has been sadly missing from the action. Their ark’s launch was delayed due to technical complications, meaning that they’ve been late to the party – with no clear sign of if, or when, the nomadic species would show its shiny enviro-suits in Andromeda.
That could be changing if swirling fan rumors turn out to be true. A new multiplayer APEX briefing has given a hint about the existence of the Keelah Si’yah, the delayed quarian ark that is carrying the missing race as well as the elcor, hanar, drell, and volus races.
The mission briefing, which involves investigating a Remnant observatory, reveals a transmission received by the observatory that has gone undetected by Initiative observers. The transcript says:
ANALYSIS: “…trying to boost the signal. Unknown if…tech seems to be helping even if we don’t know the…back to Keelah Si’yah …way home.”
These mission briefings often include new information meant to further Andromeda’s overall plot, so some fans are speculating that the message could be teasing new single-player downloadable content for the game. Or it could be nothing more than a red herring meant to generate excitement.
Given that further development on the Mass Effect franchise has been put on hiatus for the time being, it seems unlikely that this tease will turn into full-blown DLC. However, BioWare has also said it will continue to “focus on the Mass Effect: Andromeda community and live service,” so anything is possible.
If publisher EA decides to announce DLC for Andromeda, it’ll most likely happen next month, either at the EA Play fan event in Hollywood or E3 2017. Check back here for more details as we get them!
