Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy won’t be out until June 30 for PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until then to see how gorgeous it looks on a current-gen console. YouTube gaming channel Arekkz Gaming has captured more than 10 minutes of gameplay from a PS4 Pro and posted it for your viewing pleasure.
Feast your eyes here:
This trilogy collects three different games from the whirling marsupial’s past into one epic package: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Each game has been remastered by developer Vicarious Visions with brand-new lighting, animations, environments, and recreated cinematics – something publisher Activision calls “N. Hanced Fur-K.” (They said it, we didn’t.)
Other new additions to this collection are full analog stick support, a unified save system, and a checkpoint system, which will probably make it a lot easier to get through all three games. A lot of love has obviously gone into making Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy since not only has the soundtrack been fully remastered, but the dialogue has been newly recorded by some of the old voice actors from the original games – including Jess Harnell (Crash Bandicoot, Pinstripe Potoroo) and Lex Lang (Dr. Neo Cortex).
Judging by this gameplay video, Crash has never looked better. As a general rule, I’d rather see new game content than remastered versions of old games, but this trilogy looks to be a lot more than a modest update.
