    ‘Animaniacs’ Is Coming Back

Chris MorganBy Chris MorganMay 30, 2017

Alright, ’90s kids, it’s time to get excited/angry about another reboot. Animaniacs was one of the most popular cartoons of its time period, and it made a pretty big impact in its 99 episodes. Now Steven Spielberg, who produced the original Animaniacs (as well as Tiny Toons), is bringing Yakko, Wakko, and Dot back out of the water tower.

Spielberg’s Amblin Television production company doesn’t have a network yet, but that shouldn’t be a problem. The original run of the show is currently available to stream on Netflix, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the new Animaniacs pop up on the streaming giant.

Animaniacs was something of an animated sketch comedy show with a lot of recurring characters, but mostly it is remembered for the aforementioned Warner siblings Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, as well as Pinky and the Brain, the mouse duo that got its own spinoff. The show also had a lot of incredibly dated references, as no ’90s kid show was more enthusiastic about Kirk Douglas and Jimmy Cagney impressions.

If nothing else, we should be able to get an updated song about all the countries of the world.
