Square Enix has laid out its planned release lineup for the next few years, giving us an insight into the new games that will be coming out in the not too distant future. This includes releases for Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III. Both are going to be released in the next three years.
There is no hard release date for either game, as they were listed as “To be announced” in a slide show helmed by Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda. However, Matsuda also said, “We plan to launch each of these upcoming titles in the next three years or so.” Three years is a fairly long time, so something could change, but for now, we should be able to expect both of these games, among others, to be released by 2020.
The wait for Kingdom Hearts III has been particularly lengthy, as Kingdom Hearts II came out in North America all the way back in 2006. That’s so long ago that the game came out on PlayStation 2. Kingdom Hearts III will be coming out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One…when it comes out at least. At least we have a timeline on that.
