See the Newest Characters in ‘Tekken 7’

    ChuckBy ChuckMay 25, 2017

Six new fighters have entered the arena of Tekken 7. Bandai Namco has revealed a fourth character trailer that introduces us to Master Raven, Sergei Dragunov, Lili Rochefort, Asuka Kazama, Leo Kliesen, and Yoshimitsu.

First, watch the trailer below and then let’s discuss.

Back? Okay, good. Let’s dive in.

    Fighter #1: Master Raven

What we know: Master Raven is an agent for the UN’s intelligence bureau and has embarked on a mission to infiltrate the King of Iron Fist Tournament to confront a target. She wields a blade, which she seems to use with deadly accuracy in combat.

    Fighter #2: Sergei Dragunov

What we know: This Russian military combatant entered the Iron Fist Tournament on army orders. From the video, he appears to be a brawler with formidable strength.

    Fighter #3: Lili Rochefort

What we know: Hailing from Monaco, Lili first appeared in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. Now she’s back in the tournament, unbeknownst to her father, to look cute and kick butt – not necessarily in that order. She has a mean kick, too; it’s obvious that Lili does not skip leg day.

    Fighter #4: Asuka Kazama

What we know: Another returning fighter from Tekken 5, Asuka is the daughter of the Kazuma Traditional Martial Arts School and known as a “gang mediator” in her Japanese home town. Lili views her as a rival, which may explain why Asuka destroys her mercilessly in the video.

    Fighter #5: Leo Kliesen

What we know: This German fighter was introduced in Tekken 6 and now he’s back for more. He’s entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament to learn more about his deceased mother. Apparently, hitting people will help with that.

    Fighter #6: Yoshimitsu

What we know: The mysterious Yoshimitsu isn’t new to Tekken players – he was in the very first game in the fighting series. This time, he’s infiltrating the tournament (a common theme, it seems) to gain intelligence on corporate intrigue at multinational conglomerate Mishima Zaibatsu. He looks like a scary silver Predator with a sword.

Bandai Namco and social video platform Twitch have also partnered to create the Tekken World Tour, a series of esports competitions around the world. The official calendar includes dates in the U.S., Poland, France, Qatar, Russia, and Thailand, among other countries.

Tekken 7 will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 2.
