It looks like a well-known entry in the Mario and Luigi Superstar series of video games could be coming to Nintendo 3DS, if a well-known data miner named SciresM is to be believed. After investigating a new update to the Nintendo 3DS eShop’s title ID database, SciresM appears to have found proof by way of leaked Nintendo 3DS icons that one game in particular could be making its way to a handheld near you in the future.
SciresM (real name Michael) originally tweeted about some icons he had found on his search for information. One such icon was Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga DX, which could very well be one of the games coming in the future for Nintendo 2DS XL.
The fact that there’s a special “DX” on the end of the game name means that the game could potentially be more than a regular old Virtual Console port and perhaps a remake, but everything is currently supposition at the moment.
Nintendo hasn’t made any waves recently about whether or not this could be true, but with the launch of the upcoming Nintendo 2DS XL, anything is possible. If there’s anything Nintendo has shown over the last year or so, it’s that anything can happen when it comes to the unpredictable company.
Perhaps we’ll see a future release of Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga on the popular handheld soon after all!
