Netflix made a lot of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans quite happy when they agreed to give the reboot of the cult classic a home at their streaming empire. Of course, fans had already raised millions of dollars for the show, so they are the real heroes here. However, when you have superstars like Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot working for you, you don’t hide their light under a bushel. Netflix was smart, as this video indicates, because they let Servo and Crow pitch some shows to Netflix’s CCO Ted Sarandos.
Then again, as anybody who has watched MST3K knows, the ‘bots don’t always have the best ideas. Although, Crow’s one man (or one robot) show about Match Game host Gene Rayburn had loads of potential. It remains to be seen if any of Crow and Servo’s ideas get the greenlight from Sarandos and Netflix. The answer will probably be no, though. After all, they are robot puppets from a comedy show where they make fun of bad movies. Still, nothing can be as bad as Fuller House.
