Insomniac’s Spider-Man was announced during E3 2016. Though the game doesn’t have an official release date yet, Spider-Man will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, later this year. Insomniac Games’ Ryan Penagos, Vice President of Marvel Digital Media, said in a livestream event, “there’s even more on the horizon for 2017 like Spider-Man coming to PlayStation 4 and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC.”
The developer also confirmed the Spider-Man game is not based on the upcoming Spider-Man movie hitting theaters in July. “This is a more seasoned Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City,” Insomniac said. “At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his absurdly chaotic personal life and career.”Spider-Man is one of the most iconic and well-known characters in the world and we’re thrilled to have been given the responsibility to create a brand new, authentic Spider-Man story,” said Insomniac on PlayStation Blog.
