Facebook Messenger app for iOS and Android now lets users exchange via group messages, the company announced. Messenger has allowed users to make payments, but it was only available in one-on-one conversations instead of group messages.
How to Send Group Payments in Facebook Messenger
To send group payments on Messenger, simply tap on the + sign in the bottom left hand corner of a group conversation, then tap the payments icon ($). You’ll need to choose who will receive the money. You can either choose everyone in the group or select a few friends. You can add what the money is for— for example a pizza party, gift for your friend, or more. Once you’re ready to send money, tap Request.
“Starting today for Android and desktop, you can send or receive money between groups of people on Messenger. It’s free, simple, fast and secure,” said Partha Sundaram, Product Manager for Consumer Payments in a post. “Whether you’re splitting a restaurant bill or chipping in for a group gift, all you need to do is go to a new or existing Messenger group conversation to get started.”
Facebook Messenger group payments is now available in the US.
